Blue Square Bet South

Fleetwood Town manager Micky Mellon has been named the Blue Square Bet Premier ‘manager of the month’ for November. The Cod Army boss has seen his side go unbeaten throughout the period as they challenge Wrexham at the top of the table. Fleetwood started the month with a 5-0 win over Mansfield Town in an FA Cup replay which set up a First Round home tie with Wycombe Wanderers from League One. Despite playing the second-half with ten-men, they won 2-0 to progress to the Second Round. In the Blue Square Bet Premier they kept level on points with leaders Wrexham after home wins against Stockport County and Kettering Town and a draw at Gateshead. They struck a huge blow in the promotion race with a 2-1 win at fellow pre-season title favourites Luton Town too.

The Blue Square Bet North ‘manager of the month’ for November is Gary Lowe from Hyde FC. Lowe’s side stayed at the top of the division with 13 points from a possible 15 during the month. They also beat Matlock Town 1-0 to progress to the next round of the FA Trophy. In six competitive games during the period they only conceded two goals. It’s Lowe’s second award of the season so far after his team’s excellent start.

A draw away to fellow promotion chasers Woking in the league was followed by a 2-0 home win over The Cards in the FA Trophy. City also won 6-1 at home to Bromley in another of their league wins during the month.
