Press Release regarding Eastleigh finances

Eastleigh Football Club are delighted to announce that following various conversations, previous chairman Paul Murray and current shareholder Stewart Donald have kindly agreed to write-off loans totalling approximately £260,000 and convert them into donations.

This gesture results in the club being virtually debt free, providing financial stability for the future and is a wonderful gesture.

EFC spokesman Darren Nangle commented: “I think what these two individuals have done is superb and on behalf of all at Eastleigh FC the words ‘thank you’ should not be under estimated on this occasion. Paul has donated around £70,000. This clearly shows how he feels about the club and how strong his desire is to see Eastleigh continue to prosper. He is a massive fan and has been instrumental in the success of the club over recent years working tirelessly.

“The Eastleigh fans and the wider community have been very fortunate to have such an individual involved in their club.

“Stewart’s donation of over £190,000 is an incredible gesture and further demonstrates his commitment and passion for Eastleigh FC. He is thoroughly enjoying his involvement and is as dedicated as ever. With the current board also donating an awful lot of their own time and funds, it puts us in an incredibly strong position despite these challenging financial times.”
