Saints coming to town again

Southampton FCAs part of our ongoing partnership with Southampton Football Club we are delighted to announce more mouth-watering fixtures to be played at the Silverlake Stadium.

Southampton Under 21’s will play a number of high profile opponents including Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur Under 21’s having qualified from the Elite Group Stage of the Professional Development League, beating Newcastle United recently at the Silverlake.

The first fixture will be on Sunday the 20th of January where a buoyant Saints side take on Arsenal’s Under 21’s with a 1pm kick off. With rules for the competition stating a team can name three overage outfield players plus an overage goalkeeper in any matchday squad, Saints are likely to involve the likes of Artur Boruc, Danny Butterfield, Tadanari Lee, Ryan Dickson and Jonathan Forte.

If that was not enough excitement, Southampton Under 21’s will then take on the might of Manchester United on Saturday the 2nd February for a 1pm kick off again at the SIlverlake. The Manchester United team is likely to feature talented Manchester United stars Federico Macheda, Bebe plus many others. Macheda is well remembered for his stunning late winner for the Red Devils first team in the third minute of injury time against Aston Villa having been 2-1 behind.

With further features scheduled against West Bromwich Albion, Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanders and West Ham United we are sure in for an exciting final half of the season at the Silverlake.

Richard Hill

Eastleigh Football Club are delighted to announce Richard Hill as their new first team manager, with immediate effect. Richard will be introduced to the players and staff tomorrow evening and will take charge of his first match on Saturday against Maidenhead. Richard is vastly experienced having managed Stevenage Borough and assisted John Gregory at both Wycombe and QPR, Brian Little at Aston Villa and also fulfilled the same roles at Gillingham, Tranmere Rovers and Northampton Town. It is a new era for the football club and we feel that in appointing Richard we have made the right choice.
