Social: Reaction to Wrexham v Eastleigh & new manager Ronnie Moore

To say that it's been a busy week for Eastleigh would be a huge understatement writes Jamie Montigue.

A 4-2 home defeat on Tuesday at the hands of Dover Athletic culminated in Chris Todd losing his job as manager the next day.

Two days later, former Hartlepool, Rotherham and Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore was called upon and appointed as the successor to Todd.

Moore will be looking for the Spitfires to get their season back up and running with promotion the ultimate end goal. His first full game in charge will be at home to Solihull Moors next Saturday (27th) at the Silverlake Stadium. A match that will be eagerly anticipated by many, not least by the new boss who will be hoping to hit the ground running.

Moore has over 900 games of experience in the Football League. The vastly experienced 63-year-old Liverpudlian has dropped into Non League Football for the first time in his highly respectable managerial career. Moore will also be moving down South, something he hasn't done since his playing days when he had a two-year spell at Charlton Athletic.

The new boss was looking on at his new players in action as Eastleigh headed to north Wales to take on Wrexham, but it was caretaker manager Ben Strevens who was in the dugout to lead the team.

Strevens made five changes to the side that lost at Dover, the most notable change being Ross Flitney replacing young Arsenal loanee Ryan Huddart in goal.

Here is the best reaction to the news of Moore's appointment and the 0-0 draw away at Wrexham.

Eastleigh prepare for Ronnie's reign with a solid draw at Wrexham

EASTLEIGH welcomed in new manager Ronnie Moore with a 0-0 Vanarama National League draw at Wrexham this afternoon. It was solid rather than spectacular by the Spitfires, but the clean sheet will have come as a welcome boost after Tuesday's slap-dash 4-2 home defeat by Dover which cost Moore's predecessor Chris Todd his job.
