After the break, Gary McSheffrey netted his first Eastleigh goal in the 55th minute from a great assist by Mark Yeates.

A BIG THANK YOU
Eastleigh Football Club can announce the resignation of Director of Football David Malone, who is standing down with immediate effect.
Dave has been an integral part of the Spitfires since becoming Director of Football in May 2006, but due to personal reasons he cannot continue his valued commitment to the club.

Posting on the EFC fans forum Dave says “I would like to thank everybody associated with Eastleigh Football Club for allowing me the privilege of sharing so many positive experiences over the past 6 years - and I truly wish the Club every future success”.

Dave who was previously a Director at Winchester City, Salisbury City & Bashley FC has been actively involved in every aspect of the Club and instrumental in Eastleigh’s on the pitch progress. Off field he was an influence in attracting Bridle Insurance to the Club. Simply put, without Dave’s hard work and efforts Eastleigh would not be at our present level within the higher echelons of Non League F…

Coulson signs for Barnet for club record fee

Luke Coulson has completed his move to League Two side Barnet for a club record fee for Eastleigh.
The 22-year-old's departure comes just days after Joe Partington left the Silverlake Stadium for Bristol Rovers.
A statement from Eastleigh FC read: "After lengthy negotiations, 22-year-old Luke Coulson has transferred from Eastleigh to League Two Barnet for an undisclosed fee.
"Coulson has been with The Spitfires for less than a year but again Eastleigh Football Club do not want to stand in the way of a players desire to play at a higher level, which Coulson has taken.
"It also allows Eastleigh to net a record transfer fee surpassing the amount received only last weekend for Joe Partington.
"Eastleigh wish Luke well for his future and thank him for his time with us."
Thank you to everyone at @EastleighFC, an amazing club that I was proud to be part of. Looking forward to my new challenge at @BarnetFC. — Luke Coulson (@LukeCoulson8) January 18, 2017

Reaction: Moore and Mandron discuss Maidstone defeat

Reaction to the 2-1 defeat at Maidstone, quotes from Eastleigh boss Ronnie Moore: “One or two think they’re better than they are and that’s got to change.
“Everyone wants to beat us but we need to have the best team not just the best individual players.
“We seem to think it’s going to be easy against the so-called lesser teams.
“Too many think they can just turn up - they have to look in the mirror.
“That was disappointing again - the goals we give away - the first one was unbelievable.
“We get back in it and then give away a stupid pen. You can’t legislate for that. You do all the work with your back four in training and then we go and do that.
“How we missed that chance at the end when Beano (Constable) put the ball past the post...you have to take your chances when they come but it’s not going for us in front of goal.
“It’s back to the drawing board. We’ve got a lot to work on to get a play-off spot.
“Our better players are having a wobble, which happens, but they have to give mor…
